Broncos Make Block Buster Deal For Cutler... maybe?

| | Comments (0)

The Denver Broncos announced today that they have traded QB Jay Cutler in a block buster deal, NOT!, NO!, NO WAY!, but MAYBE...

Bronco fans if Jay Cutler does not want to be here TRADE HIM!  None of us really knows what is happening.  It is clear REAR Coach McDaniels and QB Cutler cannot get along.  I'm tired of the squabble. END IT!

I like Jay.  He is a great QB.  Jay has helped local organizations when asked. He has participated in fund raising , etc. Jay has been involved in the community. Jay has taken his money and his time to share with the community. The value of a players involvement in a community is important.

Like most Bronco fans I was angered when learning of REAR coach McDaniels attempted trade. We have a great young QB who most of us was hoping would be around for many years to come. We were hoping Mike, Jay, Brandon,Royal and other Broncos would lead us to another super bowl. These hopes seem to be fading.  Jay has put two homes on the market and requested a trade.

REAR Coach McDaniels has failed  in the eyes of many fans and in the eyes of players, talk show hosts, sports writers etc. Bronco fans we maybe in for a bumpy ride with this New England style of slicing dicing and shredding of players.  I don't care for it!\

Cutler went out on a limb when Shanahan was fired.  He brought some wrath on himself. It is clear P. Bowlen was not happy with Cutlers remarks about Shanahan's firing and the offensive coaches.  Unfortunately this was going south from the day Bowlen fined Shanahan... from the day Cutler express displeasure... from the day he requested that the QB coach be retained but wasn't... from the day he requested the offensive coordinator be retained and he wasn't... from the day he and REAR coach McDaniels stopped speaking... from the day McDaniels trade blew up in his immature green face... from the day LOOSER BOWLEN backed McDaniels plays...

Anyway it is real doubtful that McDaniels or anyone else can change what has happened from Cutlers point of view.  So our new coach has really blown it!  OR HAS HE?   This will be a test!  What IF General Mess Xanders and Rear coach McDaniels land a deal, A REAL SUPER DEAL! If by chance they made a five star deal for Cutler things will calm down quickly.

Cutler is not gone yet...

It is possible McDaniels and Cutler will still work things out and have a wonderful life together...

It is possible Xanders and McDaniels may make a block buster deal for Cutler...

What kind of a deal would wind your clock?

Oh! yes, then there is the chance this will go on forever.  It may even get worse.. Then of course there is the chance McDaniels and Xanders will stumble again and we get nothing to speak of for Cutler.  What will happen?

Will 20th in Defense make much of a difference?

| | Comments (0)

The 30 plus crowd in the defense will not make much of a difference!  Why?  If they allow just 5 points less per game in 2009 we still would have lost eight games in 2008.  We still would have lost to K.C. by 4, Jacksonville by 6, New England by 16, Miami by 6, Oakland by 13, Carolina by 13, Buffalo -a tie and San Diego by 2.  Now we lost to these teams by a lot more... And again my comment is based scoring the same points per game.  If we give up 325 to 350 per game we will improve in defensive position but not wins.  We scored the second most points in the game but our offense was rated 16th in scoring.  How have we helped ourselves in Special Teams?

Or Defensive average was:

Total points allowed per game was 28 pts.

Total yards per game was Denver was 29th at 374.6

Total Yards rushing allowed per game Denver was 27th at 146.1 {2,337}

Total Yards allowed in passing per game Denver was 26th at 227.8 {3,655}

In comparison the average at 20th is:

Total yards per game was Green Bay was 20th at 334.3

Total Yards allowed in passing per game San Francisco was 20th at 219.2 {3,507}

Total Yards per rush allowed Carolina was 20th at 4.4 yards per rush

Total Yards rushing allowed per game Carolina was 20th at 119.5 {1,912}

Can our defense improve to 20th?  Yes!

Will being 20th in defense make a big difference?  Yes - Mainly in yards allowed rushing per game.

Buffalo

Total Yards 275

Passing yards 87

Rushing yards 188

Denver dominated time of possesion, by 7 minutes

Extra Points 3/3 to 2/2 +1 point

Sacks -2 for -5 yards

Seven areas that really stand out in the Bronco losses.

First, in 1 out of 8 losses Denver dominated time of possession.  In these eight games Denver was dominated by 47 minutes to just 7 minutes.

Second, in 6 of the 8 games Denver missed a field goal or extra point.  This give great field position to the opponent instead of a kick return. comparision .

Third, in 7 out of the 8 looses Denver had fewer rushing yards.

Fourth, in 6 out of 8 losses Denver had more passing yards.  The passing game did not get it done for Denver.

Fifth, in 4 out of 8 losses Denver gave up significant yards per rush to K.C. 6.5 yards, Jacksonville 5.7 yards, Oakland 6.8 yards, San Diego 7.7.  In three wins the Broncos gave up significant yards per rush to San Diego 6.0 yards, Cleveland 5.5 yards, New York 7.5 yards.  In eight games Denver had great difficulty stopping the run.  I cannot see this 30 plus crowd of corner backs and free safeties in the defense making that great of a difference in stopping the run.

Sixth, is that 6 of the 8 games where Denver was beaten our opponent rushed a lot more than they passed.  The other two losses were almost even rushing and passing.

Seventh, 5 of the 8 losses were by more than 2 touchdowns.

Eighth, 5 of Denver's wins were by less than four points.  One was an error in judgment by the ref.

All in all Denver has way to much to over come to be better than 6 & 10.  New coaches, new players, new system and a difficult schedule will doom the Broncos hope of a winning season let alone a play off berth. I have been a Bronco fan for 49 years and have a pretty good feel for how they will do.  I wish all the success to Rear coach McDaniels and the General Mess Xanders yet there is only so much they can do in one season.

Quotes by Broncos REAR Coach McDaniels:

| | Comments (0)

Rear Coach McDaniels has spoke to the press about four times.  He is what he had to say.

USA Today

01-12-09

[I would] like to personally thank Bill Belichick for providing me my foundation in this league and for mentoring me for eight years, McDaniels said at his introductory news conference Monday night.

Regarding his age:

My age has never been a factor. It's never going to be a factor. [It is] about performance. [It is] about what [you are] capable of getting the players to do, , McDaniels said.

Coaching Experience:

As much as [I have] coached offense the past four or five years here, [I am] a football coach [that is] built to understand defense. [That is] where I learned my foundation. ... and I think that my goal as the head coach is not just to improve the defense. It's to improve the team, McDaniels said.

McDaniels said he's been shaped by Belichick, Weis and Nick Saban, who gave him his first job as a graduate assistant at Michigan State in 1999. USA Today

I hope [I have]  taken all the good things from them, McDaniels said.

The standoffish personalities of his three notable mentors [did not] necessarily rub off on him, though, USA Today.

I think [you will] certainly see me bring a little bit of a different vibe. [I am] going to have a lot of energy. I can smile , McDaniels said.

More Coaching Experience:

[There is] a lot of things, [I am] sure, I have never dealt with before, but [I am] looking forward to that, McDaniels said.

[I have] coached older players, [I have] coached older players - I [do not] think age is a factor. What they care about is what [I am] saying and whether or not [it is] going to help them win, McDaniels said.

Boulder Daily Camera / Associated Press

In his first public comments since he was introduced as Mike Shanahan's successor last month, McDaniels said at his NFL combine scouting news conference Friday that the Broncos will be aggressive when free agency begins Feb. 27. BDC / AP

Free Agency:

[We are] interested in a lot of things and we have areas we can improve on. We have, obviously like every team does, needs and holes to fill, so if [there is] a player out there we feel will fill that, then [we are] going to be aggressive in pursuing, we have (salary cap) room available, so [we will] see how it goes in the next few weeks, McDaniels said.

[You are] going to see some 3-4 from us. [I am] not going to say [we are] going to be all 3-4, but [it is] going to be some combination thereof. I think the 3-4 defense presents some unique challenges to an offense, McDaniels said.

Broncos QB Jay Cutler:

McDaniels also said he's met several times with quarterback Jay Cutler, who had voiced his displeasure at Shanahan's' firing on Dec. 30 after the team failed to reach the playoffs for the third straight season, DBC / AP.

I [was not] worried about it. I met with him several times, and [I am] confident in what I can do and what our staff can do and how good we can be, and [Jay is] going to be a big part of that.  My focus is on telling him how [he is]  going to be better, because we all can improve. Certainly, [that is] our goal.  [That is] what my communication with him has been, to get him up to speed and to talk to him how I feel next year and going forward is going to be different than the years [he has] played here already in Denver. I think we have a good relationship now. [It is] definitely on the right track, and [I am] looking forward to working with him this year, McDaniels said.

More Regarding Broncos QB Jay Cutler:

Since word broke Saturday that Jay Cutler's name had come up in trade discussions, rumors have run rampant.

There has been speculation that Cutler could be traded to the Vikings, the Browns, the Buccaneers, the Jets -- basically any team with a need at quarterback. But new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels spoke out Tuesday afternoon and attempted to squash any and all existing speculation, AS.

Let me be as clear as I can about this, McDaniels said when reached at his office Tuesday afternoon. We are not trading Jay Cutler -- period.

Bowlen Regarding Hiring McDaniels:

'What I was trying to do was pick the best guy, Bowlen said.

The first choice is better for all of us Bronco fans.  Most of us want the REAR Coach and CRYING Cutler to kiss and make up.  How will this happen with all the hype from the media and us bloggers?  Will it happen?  The story ends in three days.  Cook falls on his sword!  Maybe he is pushed off the cliff.  Cook will be blamed for leaking the story, flaming the coals etc.

The Broncos are trying to save face. They know REAR Coach McDaniels blew his chance for reconciliation several times.  The most recent was the conference call. Owner P. Bowlen, Chief Oscillating Officer Ellis, REAR Coach McDaniels and General Mess Xander are scrambling to find the majic solution.

It's clear that Bowlen chose a strong headed immature REAR Coach who like FORMER President W. Bush cannot say, I made a mistake. BOWLEN BLEW IT IN HIRING MCDAINELS...

Talk about taking the bait... Talking about being set up... Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees... REAR COACH MCDAINELS BLEW IT IN TRYING TO TRADE CUTLER...

Cutler had fan sympathy for the first few days.  Most of us know what it is like to be under cut by the BIG BOSS. Now after a month of this story being flamed in the news we want it settled so we can move on. J.C. must understand he has to give McDaniels an escape route.  CUTLER IS GOING TO BLOW IT IF HE DOESN'T LET THE COACH OFF THE HOOK...

There has to be an exit door for everyone to save face. If us fands are fortunate the story will go down something like this. Cook is the fall guy. He is the one to blame this whole mess on. RESULT - Cutler shows on Monday or Tuesday McDaniels shares a little blame. Cutler shares a little blame. Everyone kisses and makes up. Bowlen goes back to his hole.  If not Cutler can pack a suitcase to NOWHERE!!

What do you think?   What is your solution?

BRONCOS MUST HAVE A NEW OWNER!!!

Broncos' talk with Cutler goes sour

Trade rumors back to the fore

By Mike Klis  - The Denver Post

03-10-09

Broncos [REAR] coach Josh McDaniels was part of a conference call Monday with disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler... He was accompanied on the call by his agent Bus Cook. Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and general manager Brian Xanders also were part of the call...According to the source, Cutler entered the conference call believing any friction between the two parties would be resolved and the two sides would put the controversy behind them. Instead McDaniels told Cutler no one is untradeable and that the quarterback was expected to report for the team's offseason conditioning program that begins Monday. According to the source, Cutler has not yet decided whether he will report Monday.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The DENVER BRONCOS NEED A NEW OWNER... Pat Bowlen has turned his back so many times... He has looked the other way so often... WHERE IS HIS SPINE?  It's time for all Bronco fans to rise up... Bowlen has had a free ride and made millions off fans and tax payers a like.

AFC West teams will get together soon

The run for the 2009 season is about to commence. Teams are preparing for the start of their offseason conditioning programs.

The programs are voluntary but nearly every player on every team participates, especially since many players have large bonuses for participating in the workouts that are written into their contracts.

Some players have agreements worked into their deals with teams that allow them to work out on their own...

What I cannot understand is how coaches in the NFL understand how important it is to write bonuses into player contracts that voluntary participation in offseason conditioning programs yet these same coaches ignore player conduct.   Why can't coaches write code of conduct into player contracts.  Layout in the contract what the team expects of every player and what will automatically happen when a player fails to meet team requirements. The team should define levels of conduct violations. Every contract should define fines, suspensions, required player participation in mental health programs etc.

In the same way that teams offer bonuses for physical conditioning teams should offer bonuses for mental / emotional conditioning.  Many relationship issues are already formed from high school and college when a player enters the pros that need to be addressed. I understand the NFL has a week program.  Thats a start but it does not go far enough.  Players with red flags are on every team. NFL players need encouragement backed with bonuses and guidance in mental / emotional well being.

Certain Bronco's Player's Have Off the Field Conduct Issues...

| | Comments (0)

Pat Bowlen is an influential NFL owner yet for whatever reason he seems to be a little lamb when it comes to player issues.   What type of issues?  Here are a few:

Brandon Marshal 7 police incidents, 4 arrests in three years, DUI...

Daniel Graham - Arrested and charged with harassing his girlfriend...

David Kircus - Arrested for punching a guy in the face after a party...

Travis Henry's substance issues...

Travis Henry's 9 children with nine different women...

Bill Romanowski's diet pill use, court etc., issues with black players etc...

Darrent Williams murdered...  We pray that his killer will be brought to justice!

I could mention many more Broncos ....

Mr. Bowlen there are red flags up all around the Broncos.  Don't you get it?  THE BRONCOS NEED TO ESTABLISH AND ENFORE A CODE OF HONOR WITH REAL CONSEQUENCES FOR PLAYERS THAT HAVE CONDUCT ISSUES.

The Broncos should lead the league with fines, penalties and consequences for players who fail to be the outstanding citizens we the fans expect them to be!

As one fan, I an greatly frustrated with the Broncos wimpy lack of dealing with players conduct issues.  The Bronco organization needs a REAL LEADER at the top!  Sir you own this football team.  It is your responsibility to impose conduct guidelines and enforce them.  NFL owners need to deal with player conduct issues swiftly and fairly.  If the football owners were good leaders the NFL would not need to play sheriff.

Did the Broncos Double Dawkin$ $alary?

By Bob Brookover  - Philadelphia Inquirer Staff Writer

"Denver made it clear right away that I'm not a 'want' there, I'm a necessity," Dawkins said. "They feel they need me here to help them win right away. The feeling I got from [the Eagles] was this was a business deal. This was not business for me. I did not want to get to free agency. I have never gone to free agency. I had chances in the past to collect big bucks in the open market, but I did not want to get there."

Dawkins may have felt as though he was shortchanged in his previous dealings with the Eagles. He signed a two-year extension in 2006 that included $6.2 million in new money. That deal averaged just over $3 million per year...

It's pertty hard to believe that the Broncos needed Dawkins as much as he described...  Yet when the Broncos offer is almost double the Eagles what can one say?

The Broncos have NO COMMENT on Brandon Marshall's POOR BEHAVIOR

Charge Dropped but Marshall Might Not be in [the] Clear

The Buffalo News

By Arnie Stapelton and Pat Graham AP Sports Writers

04-04-09

Denver Broncos star receiver Brandon Marshall faces a possible suspension even though a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a fight with his fiance was dismissed in an Atlanta court Monday.

Municipal Judge Clinton Deveaux dismissed the case after Marshall and his fiance, Michi Leshase Nogami-Campbell, both of whom were charged with disorderly conduct, refused to testify against each other.  Despite being in the clear from a legal standpoint, the Pro Bowl receiver might still be disciplined for repeated violations of the league's personal conduct code, which gives commissioner Roger Goodell the authority to punish players...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Denver Broncos have NO COMMENT on Brandon Marshal

'Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said the team has no comment.'

The Denver Broncos have NO COMMENT '... on the 7 police related incidents with [Marshall's] former girfriend.'  Bowlen how many times does Marshall have to beat on his giflfrined before you will do something about his poor behavior?

The Broncos have NO COMMENT on '... [Brandon Marshall's 4th arrest in three years...'  Bowlen when is enough, enough?

The Broncos have NO COMMENT on the police report.  'According to the police report, Marshall got into a heated argument early Sunday morning at his home in Atlanta with Nogami-Campbell... While police looked on, the argument escalated and Marshall and his fiance began kicking and punching each other on the sidewalk outside his home, according to the report.'

"It's always a concern whenever the league is looking into things," Marshall's lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, said. "We'll deal with it. ... I'm hopeful the league will treat us fairly and appropriately as they've done in the past."

'... Marshall's latest arrest puts a crimp in his plans to seek a huge contract as one of the league's top receivers. He's due $2.2 million this season in the final year of a four-year contract he signed as a rookie.'  Isn't that just a real shame.   Brandon Marshall you have let all of us down!!   You deserve all that you get!

Broncos: Cutler is a keeper

After meeting with Marshall, the new coach of the Broncos will have a chat with the QB.

By Mike Klis - The Denver Post

03/04/2009

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels has determined the best way to deal with the drama surrounding Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall is to look his young stars in the eye.

McDaniels met Tuesday with the embattled Marshall, the Broncos' top receiver, and will meet next week with the disgruntled Cutler, the team's starting quarterback. "Josh and Jay will sit down and meet next week when Jay gets back from Nashville," Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth said....

Marshall was arrested in Atlanta on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from an altercation with his fiancee, Michi Nogami, who also was arrested on the same charge. The charges against Marshall and Nogami were dropped Monday, but given Marshall's multiple prior domestic incidents with another woman, he figures to be facing a suspension of four to eight games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The Bronco community deserves more than an angery 230 pound 6' 4'' receiver who has a history of  hurting women.  What is it with our community?  Does Brandon Marshall get another pass another get out of jai free card...?  Why?  It is NOT O.K. for football players to slap women around and to beat on them.  NO EXCUSE!

Bowlen step up to the plate!  Let your fans know human decency is real important to the Broncos.  McDaniels be the first to suspend Marshall for his acts of anger and rage and domestic Violence.  Football players should NOT get a pass when they do what Marshall is accused of doing.

Issues with Brandon Marshall?

| | Comments (0)

Issues with Brandon Marshall?

So the Atlanta PD dropped the charges on Broncos receiver Brand Marshall, does this mean Marshall and his girlfriend didn't have an altercation?  Does this mean Marshall is an outstanding citizen?  Does it mean that Brandon Marshall did not threaten, did not strike, did not batter his girlfriend?  I don't know.  The NFL will investigate and issue a report.  If the NFL finds Brand Marshall did as the newspapers report I think the NFL will suspend Brandon Marshall for at least 8 games and order him to get counseling.

Does Brandon Marshall NEEDS HELP?

Bronco fans this incident and others like it are more important than the game of football.  Domestic Violence against anyone is serious.  It is especially serious when a 230 pound 6' 4" professional football player in the NFL is accused of pushing, shoving, smacking and hitting a lady.  THERE IS NO PLACE FOR THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR!

RED FLAGS are going up all around Brandon Marshall.  What should be done?

The potential for ANGER... RAGE... ACTS of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE are always their.  All it takes is just one slip and you are right in the middle of a potentially bad situation.  A person who lives with ANGER... RAGE... ACTS of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is just one slip away from a problem every second of their life.  It is not easy living with the awareness that one slip is all it takes...  Many have been there.  Many have done than.  I have been there.  I have done that.

So what can be done?  Domestic Violence Counseling does help but DVC only goes so far.  One has to live with a daily awareness of what they are capable of.  As much as possible one has to identify what brings on what opens the door to anger and rage and domestic violence.  Then one has to steer clear of the triggers that have the potential of igniting anger and rage and domestic violence.   One must always be vigilant!!

I empathize with the victims of ANGER... RAGE... DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!  Who advocates for the victim?  Who stands up for them when a young popular professional football player is arrested and accused of striking his girlfriend?  This is not just about Brandon Marshall.  This is about what he is accused of doing.  This is about physically hurting another human being.  Injuring... battering... striking... IS NOT O.K.!!   The NFL, the owners, the Broncos and each players needs to say this again and again and again...

I feel like the NFL and the Broncos must help Brandon Marshall if  these reports are true.  I also feel like the NFL should impose an automatic fine of a million dollars on themselves, i.e. the National Football League each time a player or coach is guilty of acts of  ANGER... RAGE... DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.  Football is a very physical game on the field.  Off the field NFL players must be good, kind, gentle human beings.

Titans QB Simms to visit Broncos

Titans free agent QB Simms set to visit Broncos

By: Terry McCormick, Nashville City Paper

03/04/09 12:00

The Tennessee Titans still want to re-sign Chris Simms for the 2009, perhaps even to be their primary backup quarterback, but now have some competition for his services.

According to league sources, Simms is drawing interest from the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions, and is expected to travel to Denver for a visit with the Broncos on Wednesday.

Simms signed with the Titans after being released by Tampa Bay at the end of preseason last year.

[Chris] Simms came to the Titans and spent a good portion of the year regaining his strength after having to have his spleen removed in the aftermath an on-field injury in 2006 with the Buccaneers.

Now fully healthy, Simms is simply looking for a chance to prove himself again, either as a solid No. 2 quarterback or with a chance to compete for a starting role somewhere...

--------------------------------------------------------

We need a QB in Denver besides Patrick Ramsey who has not been a good fit.  Chris Simms is a year younger with less experience.  He is unproven.  Yet, finding a more experienced vet  with little or no future in Denver would be challenging especially after McDaniels fumble on Cutler.

Cutler's act is wearing thin -- quickly

By Gene Wojciechowski ESPN.com

Will someone please give Jay Cutler his pacifier, hand him his favorite blankie and put him back in his crib for his afternoon nap? Because if he cries anymore about a trade that didn't happen, we'll have to check his Pampers.

Cutler is the quarterback of the Denver Broncos. At least for now he is.

Turns out the Broncos are/were shopping him. The three-way trade between the Broncos, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't reach critical mass, but names (Cutler to the Bucs, Matt Cassel to the Broncos) and numbers (first- and fourth-round draft picks to the Patriots) were discussed.

With Rear Coach Joshua McDaniels Ego and Cry Baby Cutlers ego it is not likely the two will survive beyond the 2009 season.  McDaniels needs a great QB and Cutler needs a team.  They need to work this out and STOP POUTING!  I'm not sure which is the biggest cry baby.  The Broncos are in for a very ruff ride with a REAR coach that is so unexperienced and inmmature.

Broncos coach at odds with QB Jay Cutler

Player's agent says trade talk a vote of no confidence

Associated Press

ENGLEWOOD -- Trade talks involving Jay Cutler have strained the relationship between the Denver Broncos' franchise quarterback and new coach Josh McDaniels.

Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, said his client had every right to be upset with the Broncos for even entertaining an offer for the Pro Bowl quarterback.

"Because that's a vote of no confidence in the guy," Cook told The Associated Press on Sunday. "I don't care if you're talking about trading him for Matt Cassel, Matt Ryan or Tom Brady. That's a vote of no confidence in him, and that's how Jay sees it and I would, too.

Bronco fans can hope all they want for a great season but the hand writing is on the the locker room wall, 6 and 10.  If McDaniels and Cutler keep throwing sand at each other this season will be worse than 6 and 10.  Rear coach McDaniels is so green when it comes to handling players with baby egos.  He and Cutler are the talk of the league.  Both are loosing respect.

Carving up this offense is crazy

Dave Kriegor - The Denver Post

It's beginning to look like Josh McDaniels thinks even less of Mike Shanahan's personnel judgment than the rest of us did...

Given that both McDaniels and Xanders are rookies in their current jobs, it's just possible they are actually naive enough to believe you can entertain offers for your franchise quarterback, particularly an offer that would bring you the quarterback you coached last year, and not make any waves in your own organization...

Frankly, I'm trying to figure out why you'd even take calls about Cutler unless the guy on the other end of the line was mentioning Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning or, possibly, Matt Ryan.

Cutler's age, arm strength and intelligence make him a terrific NFL asset. At the risk of bringing John Elway into this, let's look just at their third-year numbers as a cautionary tale, knowing how things turned out for Elway:

Cutler completed 62 percent of his passes for 4,526 yards, 25 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. Elway completed 54 percent of his passes for 3,891 yards, 22 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.

And Now Let's Trade Cutler...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Who should be surprised at this bonehead fumble?  Way to go McDaniels / Xanders!  On the other hand Cutler here's a hankie go spout off in the corner!

Anyone with half of a brain should have seen this one coming.  Cutler and McDaniels are like soft soap and sandpaper.  Both were stumbling all over their precious egos the first 10 days after McDaniels was named rear coach.

McDaniels / Xanders get a D- for fumbling on the goal line!

Cutler gets a C- for crying, I'm on the trading block...

McDaniels / Xanders get a D- for acquiring Brian Dawkins!

Xanders gets D- for failing to complete an agreement in principle on JJ Arrington... A rookie mistake!

Our season is starting out just about as I expected.  We will be lucky to end 6 - 10 in 2009. We will be fortunate to have a team...

Denver wardrobe fits Dawkins [... not hardly]

03/01/09 By Lindsay H. Jones - The Denver Post

...McDaniels and the Broncos landed Dawkins, a seven-time Pro Bowler who spent all of his 13-year career in Philadelphia, by convincing Dawkins this is not a rebuilding situation in Denver...

Are the Broncos a Joke Yet?

YES!

Does Bowlen look like a fool hearty owner?  Yes!  Does Josh McDaniels look like a naive inexperienced very green rear coach?  Yes!  Does Brian Xanders come across as a general mess?  Yes!   Bowlen, McDaniels and Xanders are snake salesmen!  THE FANS IN DENVER ARE REAL UNHAPPY!!

I feel like Brian Dawkins is a fine human being.  There is no question he HAS BEEN a fine football player.  He has been to seven pro bowls.  Yet Dawkins is 35 years old.  He has played 13 seasons. He is NOT part of the Broncos long time futrue.  He may play good for one or two years then we need someone else.  Right now his numbers are good but one has to question how long will that last.  I wish Dawkins the very best here in Denver but I don't feel like he fits into our future or is a piece to our defensive puzzle.

I am not shocked that McDaniels and Xanders agreed on Dawkins?   I am not surprised they signed him to a guaranteed $7,200,000.00.

"He's exactly what the Denver Broncos are looking for," McDaniels said. "He wants to come to a place where he can win, and some place that wants him as much as he wants the
