Will 10 Picks Make the Difference?

| | Comments (0)

They Better!

In the 2009 Draft the Broncos have 10 picks.

First: 12th & 18th

Second: 48th

Third: 79th & 84th

Fourth: 114th

Fifth: 149th

Sixth: 18

Seventh: 225th & 235th

As most drafts go... beyond the first few picks they are unpredictable! However with the Broncos this is different.  Its like they have a HUGE sign hanging outside of Dove Valley saying Defensive Players apply here.  Or - a full page add in SI or at ESPN saying Defense Wanted!

All this talk about moving up to sign Sanchez  is ludicrous.  Moving up to sign B.J. Raji makes sense. If the right person is not available at 12th look for the Broncos to try and trade down.  I would be shocked if the Broncos took a running back or quarterback on the first day.

Since the Cutler trade Bronco fans have been real down ESPECIALLY at the prospect of starting over with a new unproven QB. Trading Cutler and drafting Sanchez MAKES ZERO SENSE!    If McD- is really serious about Sanchez and I do not believe that he is, this says, he may not be pleased with Simms or Orton. He wants three quarterbacks. The question is why would he want three quarterbacks so close in age? Why would McD- want three costly QB contracts? Why would McD- want to pay Simms about 3 million a year, Orton about 2.25 million a year and a new unproven rookie about 7.5 million a year? The average quarterback salary in the NFL is just under 2 million according to S.I.

It's difficult to get excited about our running game!  Peyton Hillis in his short stunt had ONLY 68 ATTEMPTS. Correll Buckhalter, with a total of ONLY 476 attempts in eight seasons excites no one! He averaged about 4 attempts per game. LaMont Jordan is closer to what REAR Coach McD- wants 872 attempts and almost eight carries a game.

REAR Coach McD- and General Mess know that if they Blow 10 Picks they are toast. As much as I would like to seem them somewhere else blowing the draft is not the way.  I truly hope for the Broncos sake that REAR Coach McD- and General Mess Xanders do not squander this coming draft!

Broncos 2009 Schedule Still Looks Like 6 and 10

| | Comments (0)

On 01/14/09 I said the Bronco's would be 6 and 10. That was when Mr. P. Brained Bowlen still had half his faculties... That was before we learned how much of a REAR Coach Mc D- is and that was before P. Bowlen appointed General Mess Xanders.  That was before we signed 17 middle aged average free agents and before our Golden Child pro bowl quarterback was traded.  Can things get worse?  Yes!

Jay Cutler - TRADED - Chicago Bears! Yea!

| | Comments (0)
The Bears and the Denver Broncos have agreed on a trade that sends Pro-Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler to Chicago. Sources in Denver say the Bears will receive Cutler and the Broncos' fifth-round pick in April's draft. The Bears send starting quarterback Kyle Orton, two first-round picks and a third-rounder to Denver.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler to the Chicago Bears.
The Broncos announced the deal Thursday and said terms would be disclosed later. It wasn't immediately known if Denver got any players in return or just draft picks.

Cutler had asked for a trade last month after his relationship with new coach Josh McDaniels soured. McDaniels had talked to other teams about trading his rocket-armed passer.

Broncos Make Block Buster Deal For Cutler... maybe?

| | Comments (0)

The Denver Broncos announced today that they have traded QB Jay Cutler in a block buster deal, NOT!, NO!, NO WAY!, but MAYBE...

Bronco fans if Jay Cutler does not want to be here TRADE HIM!  None of us really knows what is happening.  It is clear REAR Coach McDaniels and QB Cutler cannot get along.  I'm tired of the squabble. END IT!

I like Jay.  He is a great QB.  Jay has helped local organizations when asked. He has participated in fund raising , etc. Jay has been involved in the community. Jay has taken his money and his time to share with the community. The value of a players involvement in a community is important.

Like most Bronco fans I was angered when learning of REAR coach McDaniels attempted trade. We have a great young QB who most of us was hoping would be around for many years to come. We were hoping Mike, Jay, Brandon,Royal and other Broncos would lead us to another super bowl. These hopes seem to be fading.  Jay has put two homes on the market and requested a trade.

REAR Coach McDaniels has failed  in the eyes of many fans and in the eyes of players, talk show hosts, sports writers etc. Bronco fans we maybe in for a bumpy ride with this New England style of slicing dicing and shredding of players.  I don't care for it!\

Cutler went out on a limb when Shanahan was fired.  He brought some wrath on himself. It is clear P. Bowlen was not happy with Cutlers remarks about Shanahan's firing and the offensive coaches.  Unfortunately this was going south from the day Bowlen fined Shanahan... from the day Cutler express displeasure... from the day he requested that the QB coach be retained but wasn't... from the day he requested the offensive coordinator be retained and he wasn't... from the day he and REAR coach McDaniels stopped speaking... from the day McDaniels trade blew up in his immature green face... from the day LOOSER BOWLEN backed McDaniels plays...

Anyway it is real doubtful that McDaniels or anyone else can change what has happened from Cutlers point of view.  So our new coach has really blown it!  OR HAS HE?   This will be a test!  What IF General Mess Xanders and Rear coach McDaniels land a deal, A REAL SUPER DEAL! If by chance they made a five star deal for Cutler things will calm down quickly.

Cutler is not gone yet...

It is possible McDaniels and Cutler will still work things out and have a wonderful life together...

It is possible Xanders and McDaniels may make a block buster deal for Cutler...

What kind of a deal would wind your clock?

Oh! yes, then there is the chance this will go on forever.  It may even get worse.. Then of course there is the chance McDaniels and Xanders will stumble again and we get nothing to speak of for Cutler.  What will happen?

Rear Coach McDaniels has spoke to the press about four times.  He is what he had to say.

USA Today

01-12-09

[I would] like to personally thank Bill Belichick for providing me my foundation in this league and for mentoring me for eight years, McDaniels said at his introductory news conference Monday night.

Regarding his age:

My age has never been a factor. It's never going to be a factor. [It is] about performance. [It is] about what [you are] capable of getting the players to do, , McDaniels said.

Coaching Experience:

As much as [I have] coached offense the past four or five years here, [I am] a football coach [that is] built to understand defense. [That is] where I learned my foundation. ... and I think that my goal as the head coach is not just to improve the defense. It's to improve the team, McDaniels said.

McDaniels said he's been shaped by Belichick, Weis and Nick Saban, who gave him his first job as a graduate assistant at Michigan State in 1999. USA Today

I hope [I have]  taken all the good things from them, McDaniels said.

The standoffish personalities of his three notable mentors [did not] necessarily rub off on him, though, USA Today.

I think [you will] certainly see me bring a little bit of a different vibe. [I am] going to have a lot of energy. I can smile , McDaniels said.

More Coaching Experience:

[There is] a lot of things, [I am] sure, I have never dealt with before, but [I am] looking forward to that, McDaniels said.

[I have] coached older players, [I have] coached older players - I [do not] think age is a factor. What they care about is what [I am] saying and whether or not [it is] going to help them win, McDaniels said.

In his first public comments since he was introduced as Mike Shanahan's successor last month, McDaniels said at his NFL combine scouting news conference Friday that the Broncos will be aggressive when free agency begins Feb. 27. BDC / AP

Free Agency:

[We are] interested in a lot of things and we have areas we can improve on. We have, obviously like every team does, needs and holes to fill, so if [there is] a player out there we feel will fill that, then [we are] going to be aggressive in pursuing, we have (salary cap) room available, so [we will] see how it goes in the next few weeks, McDaniels said.

[You are] going to see some 3-4 from us. [I am] not going to say [we are] going to be all 3-4, but [it is] going to be some combination thereof. I think the 3-4 defense presents some unique challenges to an offense, McDaniels said.

Broncos QB Jay Cutler:

McDaniels also said he's met several times with quarterback Jay Cutler, who had voiced his displeasure at Shanahan's' firing on Dec. 30 after the team failed to reach the playoffs for the third straight season, DBC / AP.

I [was not] worried about it. I met with him several times, and [I am] confident in what I can do and what our staff can do and how good we can be, and [Jay is] going to be a big part of that.  My focus is on telling him how [he is]  going to be better, because we all can improve. Certainly, [that is] our goal.  [That is] what my communication with him has been, to get him up to speed and to talk to him how I feel next year and going forward is going to be different than the years [he has] played here already in Denver. I think we have a good relationship now. [It is] definitely on the right track, and [I am] looking forward to working with him this year, McDaniels said.

More Regarding Broncos QB Jay Cutler:

Since word broke Saturday that Jay Cutler's name had come up in trade discussions, rumors have run rampant.

There has been speculation that Cutler could be traded to the Vikings, the Browns, the Buccaneers, the Jets -- basically any team with a need at quarterback. But new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels spoke out Tuesday afternoon and attempted to squash any and all existing speculation, AS.

Let me be as clear as I can about this, McDaniels said when reached at his office Tuesday afternoon. We are not trading Jay Cutler -- period.

Bowlen Regarding Hiring McDaniels:

'What I was trying to do was pick the best guy, Bowlen said.

The first choice is better for all of us Bronco fans.  Most of us want the REAR Coach and CRYING Cutler to kiss and make up.  How will this happen with all the hype from the media and us bloggers?  Will it happen?  The story ends in three days.  Cook falls on his sword!  Maybe he is pushed off the cliff.  Cook will be blamed for leaking the story, flaming the coals etc.

The Broncos are trying to save face. They know REAR Coach McDaniels blew his chance for reconciliation several times.  The most recent was the conference call. Owner P. Bowlen, Chief Oscillating Officer Ellis, REAR Coach McDaniels and General Mess Xander are scrambling to find the majic solution.

It's clear that Bowlen chose a strong headed immature REAR Coach who like FORMER President W. Bush cannot say, I made a mistake. BOWLEN BLEW IT IN HIRING MCDAINELS...

Talk about taking the bait... Talking about being set up... Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees... REAR COACH MCDAINELS BLEW IT IN TRYING TO TRADE CUTLER...

Cutler had fan sympathy for the first few days.  Most of us know what it is like to be under cut by the BIG BOSS. Now after a month of this story being flamed in the news we want it settled so we can move on. J.C. must understand he has to give McDaniels an escape route.  CUTLER IS GOING TO BLOW IT IF HE DOESN'T LET THE COACH OFF THE HOOK...

There has to be an exit door for everyone to save face. If us fands are fortunate the story will go down something like this. Cook is the fall guy. He is the one to blame this whole mess on. RESULT - Cutler shows on Monday or Tuesday McDaniels shares a little blame. Cutler shares a little blame. Everyone kisses and makes up. Bowlen goes back to his hole.  If not Cutler can pack a suitcase to NOWHERE!!

What do you think?   What is your solution?

BRONCOS MUST HAVE A NEW OWNER!!!

Broncos' talk with Cutler goes sour

Trade rumors back to the fore

By Mike Klis  - The Denver Post

03-10-09

Broncos [REAR] coach Josh McDaniels was part of a conference call Monday with disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler... He was accompanied on the call by his agent Bus Cook. Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and general manager Brian Xanders also were part of the call...According to the source, Cutler entered the conference call believing any friction between the two parties would be resolved and the two sides would put the controversy behind them. Instead McDaniels told Cutler no one is untradeable and that the quarterback was expected to report for the team's offseason conditioning program that begins Monday. According to the source, Cutler has not yet decided whether he will report Monday.

The DENVER BRONCOS NEED A NEW OWNER... Pat Bowlen has turned his back so many times... He has looked the other way so often... WHERE IS HIS SPINE?  It's time for all Bronco fans to rise up... Bowlen has had a free ride and made millions off fans and tax payers a like.
